The South Australian Games Appeal Committee’s principle responsibility is to raise funds for Olympic, Commonwealth, Paralympic and South Australian athletes.

South Australia has set new benchmarks in Australia in its fundraising activities principally through the introduction of The Quarter Club in 2003.

The Quarter Club consists of 100 businesses that place an intrinsic value on combining philanthropy, reciprocal trading and lifestyle to raise important and significant funds to build on Australia’s amazing sporting culture and achievements.

In 2008 The Quarter Club will celebrate its 6^th year and the end of a fundraising quadrennium with the staging of the Beijing Games.  Fundraising has exceeded targets and the Robert Gerard AO South Australian Athlete Development Fund has been introduced to financially assist South Australian athletes.

At its inception The Quarter Club had a goal and focus to raise funds up to the Beijing Games.  Robert Gerard AO and his Committee have agreed to take The Quarter Club forward to the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth and 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games.

To secure the long term future of The Quarter Club, a second tier of membership exists for 25 to 37 year-old business people.

The Quarter Club Emerging Leaders focus is on philanthropy, business to business opportunities, networking and lifestyle activities.
